Name Anaël - Meaning and origin

Origin of first name:

Celts

Meaning of the name:

Celtic transcription of the Greek eggellos, "messenger", become "angel", or from the Hebrew hannah, "grace of God".
This mixed first name was born from the inspiration of the Breton parents who, in the 70's, added to the name Anne this ending in "el" which they particularly like. Regional for a while, this name now travels without problems to the four corners of France with its feminized variant Anaëlle. St. Anne was the mother of the Virgin Mary, but the Bible also refers to Hannah, mother of the prophet Samuel. Saint Anne is also the patron saint of Brittany.
The Anael are celebrated on July 26th. Its derivatives: Anaëlle, Anaëg.
